  1. Q: How do I record a show? Top
  2. Q: How do I playback a recorded show? Top
  3. Q: How do I delete a recorded show? Top

Answer: (Q 1-3): See How To Record With DISH Network

  4. Q: What happens to scheduled recordings when the disk becomes full? Top

Answer: If you have a re-writable or erasable recording device, when the disk becomes too full to store additional recordings, the TV Guide On Screen system will delete recordings you set with the “keep until I need space” option and record the new show. You can set this as a default option for all recordings or change it for a specific recording.

To verify or change your “keep until” default setting (if available for your device):

    1. Using your recorder’s remote, press GUIDE to open TV Guide On Screen.
    2. Highlight Setup, press the DOWN arrow button to highlight “Change default options,” and press OK.
    3. Press the DOWN arrow button to highlight “Record defaults” and press MENU.
    4. In Record Defaults menu, highlight “keep until” field and use the LEFT or RIGHT arrow button to change the default setting.
    5. To save the changes, highlight “Done” and press OK.

To change the “keep until” option for a specific recording:

    1. Using your recorder’s remote, press GUIDE to open TV Guide On Screen.

    2. Highlight Recordings, press the DOWN arrow button to highlight a title, and press MENU.
    3. In Record Defaults menu, highlight “keep until” field and use the LEFT or RIGHT arrow button to change the default setting.
    4. To save the changes, highlight “Done” and press OK.

  5. Q: Why is my recording not listed in Schedule To Do?Top

Answer: The TV Guide On Screen Schedule To Do screen receives data from your DISH program guide five minutes prior to the scheduled recording time. The show title appears in Schedule To Do just prior to the recording start time and not when you schedule the recording (unless you schedule a recording to begin within the next five minutes).

  6. Q: Why does my recording tile read “Dish remote recording” or “No title”? Top

Answer: When “Dish remote recording” is displayed in the Schedule To Do screen it indicates that the TV Guide On Screen system has not yet received show information from the DISH program guide. The show title should appear prior to the midway point of the recording duration (for example, within the first 30 minutes of an hour-long recording). When “No title” is displayed in the Schedule History screen it indicates that the TV Guide On Screen system was unable to receive show information from the DISH program guide during this time frame.

  7. Q: Why does my recording tile display the incorrect show title?Top

Answer: In some instances there is a slight delay in the show data sent from your DISH program guide. This generally occurs when a show begins to air slightly after the time slot you have scheduled to record (for example at 9:05 instead of at 9:00). In this case, when the recorder powers On to start the recording it receives data for the previous show. The show title will be updated to the appropriate show title prior to the midway point of the recording duration (for example, within the first 30 minutes of an hour-long recording).

  8. Q: Is there a way to find out why a schedule recording was unsuccessful?Top

Answer: Yes. In TV Guide On Screen Schedule History screen, highlight the recording and review the explanation displayed in the Information Box to determine why the recording may not have occurred as you expected.

  9. Q: Can I delete the recording History? Top
