What TV Guide On Screen services are available with my DISH Network™ box ?
Answer: TV Guide On Screen works with your DISH Network service to display the recordings you’ve scheduled through your DISH program guide. The TV Guide On Screen Recording, Schedule, and Setup services are available when your recorder is connected to DISH Network service. TV Guide On Screen Recording service lets you view a list of recordings by title for easy playback and you can customize how your recordings are sorted so you can find titles quickly. The TV Guide On Screen Schedule service lets you review scheduled recordings and their recording history. The Setup service lets you modify recording defaults such as quality and, if you have a re-writable or erasable recording device, how long you want to keep each recording. The Setup service lets you modify the TV Guide On Screen initial setup information and services. For more information, refer to the TV Guide On Screen section of your owner's manual.
- Q: What other broadcast services can I use with my recorder?
Answer: DISH Network cannot be selected at the same time as any other broadcast service (such as antenna, cable-ready, cable-box, and/or DIRECTV ®).
- Q: How do I access the TV Guide On Screen system setup screen to verify and configure to DISH Network service?
Answer: There are two ways to do this:
For first-time setup, press the GUIDE button on the recorder's remote and follow the on-screen prompts to select DISH Network as the supported service.

After initial setup, press the GUIDE button on the recorder's remote, highlight Setup, then "Change system settings," and press OK. Verify the DISH network service is connected to the appropriate input or use the “No, repeat setup process” option to make any necessary corrections.

- Q: When will I be able to use the TV Guide On Screen system features?
Answer: When connected to DISH Network, in most cases you can start using TV Guide On Screen immediately. Some DISH Network set-top boxes may require a software upgrade prior to using the TV Guide On Screen system. If you have one of these models you should turn your unit off so your box can receive the latest DISH Network software. For further details, refer to the How To Record instructions for your specific model number.
- Q: I had a power outage. Do I need to go through initial setup of the TV Guide On Screen system again?
Answer: No. The information you entered is saved in the TV Guide On Screen system memory.
- Q: What should I do if I cannot complete initial setup?
Answer: If you are unable to complete initial setup using your owner's manual and the on-screen prompts, please call the Manufacturer's customer service number.
- Q: What if I move and my ZIP Code or Postal Code changes?
Answer: When your recorder is connected to DISH Network service it is not necessary to update your ZIP Code or Postal Code information in TV Guide On Screen setup. However, if you switch to a different broadcast provider after your move, you will need to follow the steps provided in the next answer in order to update your ZIP Code and Postal Code information for that service.

Answer: (Q:8-11): Press the GUIDE button on the recorder's remote, use the RIGHT arrow button to highlight Setup, then use the DOWN arrow button to highlight “Change system settings.” Follow the on-screen prompts to enter new information.
