  1. Q: When I'm using my TV Guide On Screen to channel surf, my cable/satellite box doesn't change right away. Is this normal?Top

    Answer: Yes, there is a short delay of approximately two (2) seconds from the time you select a channel to the time the cable/satellite box changes.

  2. Q: My cable/satellite box will not change channels with TV Guide On Screen system. What's wrong?Top

    Answer: There are several possibilities:

      • The cable/satellite box has no remote capability and is incompatible.

      • The cable/satellite box sensor has not been activated. You must contact your service provider.

      • The incorrect cable/satellite box brand code was selected during the TV Guide On Screen initial set-up. To correct this, go to the TV Guide On Screen Main Menu Bar, highlight Setup and choose "Change system settings".

      • You have an "after market" brand cable/satellite box, which may be incompatible.

      • The G-LINK cable or wand is connected or placed incorrectly.

  3. Q: How do I expand or exit the Information Box? Top

    Answer: Press the INFO key on the remote repeatedly to scroll through the three available box sizes.

  4. Q: Can I return to the Guide's "MAIN MENU BAR" without having to cursor through all the channels?Top

    Answer: Yes. Press the MENU button on the remote and then choose the "Go to Service Bar" option.

  5. Q: Is there a way to go directly to a specific channel number rather than surfing through all of the listings?Top

    Answer: Yes. From the Listings grid use the remote 0-9 keys to type in the channel number you wish to see. When Shortcuts appears use the UP/DOWN to choose "go to channel" then press OK. (Extra Tip: Some products just require keying in the channel number then pressing OK)

  6. Q: Is there a way to go directly to the listings for a specific time slot or day without scrolling through each time slot? Top

    Answer: Yes. From the LISTINGS grid use the remote 0-9 keys to type in the number of hours or days you wish to jump ahead or back. When Shortcuts appears choose "hours ahead," “days ahead,” or "hours back," “days back.”

    Note: Time slots prior to the current time cannot be accessed.

  7. Q: How do I set a reminder for a show? Top

    Answer: Use the UP/DOWN or LEFT/RIGHT keys on the remote to highlight the show. Press the MENU key on the remote. Use the UP/DOWN arrows to highlight "set reminder". Then press OK*. Use the UP/DOWN or LEFT/RIGHT keys on the remote to make adjustments or just press OK* to "schedule reminder".

  8. Q: How do I view the promotions or advertisements on the TV Guide On Screen system? Top

    Answer: Use the LEFT arrow on the remote to highlight the Ad panel on the left of the screen.

  9. Q: Can I set the video window to preview highlighted channels while I am using the Guide? Top

    Answer: Yes. Use UP/DOWN or LEFT/RIGHT keys on the remote to highlight LISTINGS or the station logo/number column. Press the MENU key on the remote then use the LEFT/RIGHT keys to change the video to "lock" or "unlocked". Press OK* when done.

  10. Q: Can I search the show listings? Top

    Answer: Yes. You can search for show listings categorically (movies, sports, children, educational, news, variety, series, HDTV), alphabetically or by a keyword that appears in the show title, actor names, director names and/or show description. From the Main Menu Bar, use the LEFT/RIGHT arrow keys on the remote to select SEARCH. Then, use the UP/DOWN or LEFT/RIGHT keys on the remote to highlight the category, sub-category or letter. Press OK to display listings. Or; search by KEYWORD.

  11. Q: Why is there a star next to Search on the Main Menu Bar? Top

    Answer: The star icon alerts you when new results are available for your saved keyword searches.
